Description
Join friends and members of the Oconee Bell Chapter of the NC Native Plant Society at the Cashiers library meeting room to learn the intrigue of an error corrected in telling the history of Andre Michaux and his discovery of the Oconee Bells, Shortia galacifolia. The account of our most interesting local plant that appears in most published books and articles is simply wrong. After the talk we will move to the large shelter behind the Cashiers Rec Center, which we have booked for the last Tuesday each month from May through August. A native plant exchange and a green raffle will be held there on June 30, so bring your extra native plants and seedlings to raffle or exchange!
