Description
Hailing from Danville, Virginia, this powerhouse trio brings decades of experience and award-winning talent to the Bluegrass stage. Jeanette Williams, a celebrated bassist and vocalist, earned 19 SPBGMA finalist nominations, including 3 Female Vocalist of the Year awards. Her Bluegrass, Americana, Gospel, and Folk music earned her two IBMA honors for Recorded Event of the Year, and multiple songwriting contest wins. Jay Shelton was on the bluegrass scene in the 70’s& 80’s as a lead singer and lead guitarist in the band Silver Creek. In 2019 he returned to the bluegrass scene after touring as a singer/songwriter and recorded his first project “Home” (including Jeanette & Johnny Williams) this past year. Completing the trio is Johnny Williams, the band’s guitarist and principal songwriter, is a two-time Chris Austin Songwriting Contest division winner. Additional awards include Virginia State Champion Male Vocalist, PICABO Male Vocalist (twice) and PICABO Songwriter of the Year. Together, they deliver a dynamic blend of original material and timeless tradition, captivating audiences with rich harmonies and masterful musicianship. Tickets: Adults $20; Students/K-12 $10; plus tax. All concerts are in the fully restored Lynn L. Shields Auditorium. Dinner is available for purchase in the Schoolhouse Cafe beginning at 6 pm.
