An Appalachian Evening: Buncombe Turnpike

The heartfelt tunes of Buncombe Turnpike began in the fall of 1997, when lead singer and bass player Tom Godleski began the band. Buncombe Turnpike makes waves on the air and on the stage with a playlist that ranges from traditional and contemporary bluegrass to gospel and hand-crafted Buncombe Turnpike originals. With their crowd-pleasing demeanor, seasoned musicianship, and powerful vocals, this Asheville-based band continues to make a name for themselves among many types of bluegrass listeners alike. Tickets: Adults $20; Students/K-12 $10; plus tax. All concerts are in the fully restored Lynn L. Shields Auditorium. Dinner is available for purchase in the Schoolhouse Cafe beginning at 6 pm.
