Description
Whether you are drawn to clever lyrics, dynamic instrumentation, full harmonies, unpredictable arrangements, or an authentic delivery, you’ll find it all in an evening with Appalachian Smoke. With a sound reminiscent of the hollers of Southern Appalachia, their music honors the history and ways of where they grew up. Yet, these songwriters, vocalists, and instrumentalists’ style is one quick and varied enough to push the envelope. Bluegrass Today describes their style as “edgy, modern,” adding, “if they stick to this formula, we’ll be hearing about Appalachian Smoke for a long time.” Their independent release, Colder Side of Love, earned three reviews in Bluegrass Today, each praising their talented songwriting, melodic arrangements, and smooth vocal harmonies. Tickets: Adults $20; Students/K-12 $10; plus tax. All concerts are in the fully restored Lynn L. Shields Auditorium. Dinner is available for purchase in the Schoolhouse Cafe beginning at 6 pm. Your tickets will be available at our ‘will call’ desk prior to the event. If you have any problems or questions, please call us during normal business hours at 828-479-3364. Refunds and Exchanges: All ticket sales are final. Refunds are given only if a performance is cancelled. As a courtesy, if you cannot attend the show, please call the Stecoah Gallery to release your seats/tickets as a donation in order for others to enjoy the performance.
